The president of the company, Art Albin, will personally ensure that your project costs and timelines will be managed to your satisfaction. Equally important, A A Craftsman will coordinate all of the logistics associated with your project, from working with architects to inspectors to interior decorators. You dream it, we’ll achieve it.

We are proud to maintain our own workshop so that we can saw, sand, and stain your cabinets, trim, and custom furniture off site. To the extent possible your house will be free of loud noise, fine dust, and toxic fumes.

The word craftsman is part of who we are, as well as what we do. Cumulatively, the skilled tradesmen at A A Craftsman boast decades of expertise in everything from framing to finish work. Anyone can get a job done. At A A Craftsman we get it done right.

Meet the Team

Our employees are our strength. We regularly attend continuing education workshops as a group and have weekly meetings where we talk about what’s new in residential remodeling and how we can continue to improve the service that we offer as a team. We also have an apprenticeship program in place, where we can work with new carpenters to ensure that the skills they learn early on are in keeping with our high level of craftsmanship.

Art Albin - AA Craftsman Art Albin (Owner, Head Project Manager)
Art began working on building projects with his brother when he was a teenager. His work as a carpenter took him all over the country. Fly fishing is what lured Art to the Montana in 1995 and the community of Bozeman is what made him stay. He is committed is to constantly improving the service that he is able to deliver as a residential remodeler. His goal as an employer is to foster a spirit of ownership among his employees for every job they are commissioned to do by encouraging collaboration, extending trust, and fully utilizing the skills of each member of his team.

Mark Gleason - AA Craftsman Mark Gleason (Lead Carpenter)
Originally from Maryland, Mark moved to Bozeman 2 years ago to pursue college and his passion – ice climbing. His career path as a carpenter started with both of his grandfathers, who were also involved with the construction industry. Since 2006, Mark has been a valued employee of A A Craftsman. His exceptional skill at reading blueprints and framing is part of makes us the best at what we do. He is drawn to the residential remodeling area of construction because he likes the challenge of creating work that flows with what already exists. “Anyone can build something great on a fresh slab. I am interested in building something outstanding by transforming what is already there.”

Ann Prescott - AA Craftsman Ann Prescott (Bookkeeper)
Ann was raised on a dairy farm in Clifton Springs, New York. She and her husband were drawn to the Rocky Mountain West 15 years ago. She and her family have lived in Idaho, Colorado and now Montana. The Gallatin Valley’s sense of community and the beautiful landscape is what she values most about the area. Ann began her career as a bookkeeper 10 years ago. She has been working for A A Craftsman for 1 year and continues to be impressed by the thorough and complete accounting system that is in place.

Kiel Kovash - AA Craftsman Kiel Kovash (Lead Carpenter)
Kiel was raised in Livingston and moved to Bozeman 4 years ago to pursue his career in carpentry. As a Montana native, he grew up camping, hiking and skiing. Kiel was inspired to pursue a career in carpentry by his father, who mentored him as a young man. He enjoys working as a residential remodeler because he is able to do a variety of tasks. It brings him a sense of satisfaction and pride to restore what is old to make it new and fresh. Kiel’s excellent workmanship has helped A A Craftsman to be a company that is known for its attention to detail and high standard of quality. His specialty is finish carpentry and creating beautiful custom built-in cabinetry.

Blake Jennings - AA Craftsman Blake Jennings (Apprentice Carpenter)
Blake is a Bozeman local which a passion for collecting and restoring vintage Chevrolet vehicles, food, and carpentry. Prior to becoming a carpenter, Blake worked in the restaurant industry. He is extremely happy with his choice to pursue carpentry as a career path. His ability to learn quickly and positive attitude have earned him a firm position with the company. When asked what he likes best about working with A A Craftsman, he says with a prideful smile, “I work for the greatest crew in town.”
